Greetings from a solo builder in Germany.

I'm Philipp, the founder of Formfeed, an API that turns templates and JSON into PDFs and images. I'm launching here on October 20, and I wanted to introduce myself before launch.

I'm a software engineer and consultant, and Formfeed started with a problem I kept running into with clients: generating PDFs that are both accessible and compliant with Germany's evolving e-invoicing requirements.

So I built the tooling and turned it into a SaaS.

Along the way, I learned that generating a PDF is the easy part. Getting everything around it right is much harder.

Reliable previews: I found that the stock preview showed nine boxes on a page where Chromium's actual PDF output fit only six.
E-invoicing: Supporting structured e-invoices alongside traditional PDFs as businesses adapt to new requirements.
Developer-friendly workflows: Keeping templates in Git and testing them like code.

These details might seem small, but they make a big difference when documents are part of a production workflow.

I'm curious about other builders here: How does your product generate documents like invoices, reports, or certificates? Do you use a library, a headless browser, or a dedicated service?

I'd love to hear what led you to your approach and, more importantly, what still frustrates you.

Looking forward to meeting everyone here! 🚀
